Ranger News And Views (May 2009)

HELLO RANGER FANS! Welcome to the first issue of a monthly newsletter called "Ranger News & Views." In these newsletters, I will dispense news and notes on my adaptations, Super Sentai, and Power Rangers.
---------------------------------------
MY ADAPTATIONS, Part 1 (Power Rangers: Kendo Warriors):
PRKW is progressing well. I believe we are moving away from the character development, and more into story development. The last of the character development will dwelve into a secret past, not even known by Dimitri. It appears that he has more of a connection to the Orikami and Stygians than was previously thought. Episodes 14 and 15 will explore this when Iod targets Dimitri for destruction.

Coming much later in the season (August or November, when the storyline allows it), Megan's past will be explored in great detail in a two part episode, entitled "Pink Secrets."
Coming soon will be two new rangers...the Gold Kendo Ranger, expected to appear around early July. The Gold Ranger's identity was revealed in the "primer" that was posted early on to the discussion boards...his name is Logan Kingston, who was born on May 2, 1994 (he's age 16 in 2010) in London. Logan came to the United States ten years ago. He transferred into the high school for his sophomore year and beyond to play soccer. He still has a bit of his English accent. He will hang around fellow-athlete Eddie a bit. The "seventh" ranger (Silver/White?) will appear a bit later. For now, his name is Aiden Chase.

I do know that there is a bit of a lag between the Shinkenger episodes and my adapted episodes. I have done this for a reason...so I can work a bit on a project that will be posted to here and to the discussion boards once PRKW ends (see Part Two below).

Here is a list of the episodes coming to the NRIO Network in this month of May:
11. Matrimony Mayhem (May 1) [based on Act 8: Brides Spirited Away]
12. Blue Rebellion (May 8) [based on Act 9: The Tiger's Rebellion]
13. Taking Flight (May 15) [based on Act 10: Great Sky Combination]
14. Preemptive Strike (1) (May 22) [based on Act 11: Three Desires' Strife]
15. Red Under Pressure (2) (May 29) [based on Act 12: Historic First Super Samurai Combination]

MY ADAPTATIONS, PART 2 (Power Rangers: Morphin Heroes):
PRMH is an upcoming miniseries that will be posted once PRKW has completed it's run (hopefully mid-to-late Winter 2009-10). I cannot reveal much right now (as I am still writing the episodes), but I want it to be a little bit longer (15-20 episodes) than the Mighty Morphin' Alien Rangers mini-series (which had 10 episodes) that aired back in 1996 on FOX Kids. What I can definitely tell the masses is that PRMH will make the hard-core PR fans very, very happy...it'll make the post-apocalyptic feel of PRRPM seem like a cake-walk. I will reveal more is we get closer to it's premiere.

NEW BOARD JOINS THE FRAY:
Another discussion board, Japan-Legend/Guyverboard is now a part of the NRIO Network. JLG joins Rangerboard, Rangertalk, Tokusatsu-Fusion, StarPoints Rangercast, Henshin Justice Unlimited, Power Rangers Online, and the blog.
------------------------------------------------
SAMURAI SENTAI SHINKENJAA:
Shinkenger is progressing well. As mentioned above, the episodes are moving away from Character development and moving towards story development. "ShinkenGold" and his weapons and mecha are coming around early June (rumored to be June 7).

Some more rumored information includes...his true identity is "Umejou Genta," who was a childhood friend of Takeru, and came then went from the Shiba Residence when they were younger. There, Genta watched Takeru train to be a Samurai. Revealing to Takeru that he also wants to be a Samurai, he is given the Ika Oragami by the young lord, and starts to train. He then runs away from his father, a Sushi-chef, to study the art of the Samurai. He then returns in the present with his own Sushi Shop, and has developed an arsenal that uses "Denshi Mojikara" (Electric Word Power), including the SushiChanger, and the SakanaMaru. He takes up the mantle of ShinkenGold to help Takeru in a time of need. His henshin call is "Ikkan Kenjou! ShinkenGold!" (Consistency Presentment! ShinkenGold!" His squid-mecha (Ika Origami) will be able to combine with both ShinkenOh and DaiTenkuu, and will also control the lobster mecha. His element will be light.

A picture has surfaced of the seventh Shinkenger. It's legitimacy is not exactly confirmed, but it's likely. I'm guessing at it being called ShinkenSilver, if it is called a color. More than likely, he'll have command over the rumored horse, bee, and starfish mecha. There's a chance that his identity is that of Juzo. It looks like his regular Shinkenger uniform is silver, while his outer-armor is white. Very cool design. It is rumored that his element will be metal.

Here is a list of the episodes coming to TV-Asahi in Japan this month:
{All May episode titles have not been released yet.}
12. Act 12: Historic First Super Samurai Combination (5\3\09)
13. Act 13: tba (5\10\09)
14. Act 14: tba (5\17\09)
15. Act 15: tba (5\24\09)
16. Act 16: tba (5\31\09)
---------------------------------------------
POWER RANGERS RPM:
Based on the 2008 Super Sentai, Enjin Sentai Go-onjaa, PRRPM is doing okay. We are in the midst of multiple "Ranger " episodes, which focus on the back-stories of our main characters. I must say, Eddie Guezelian has done Power Rangers justice with the episodes so far as Executive Producer. Judd Lynn will be the E.P. for episodes 19-32. The "apocalyptic" feel of the series is a complete 180 turn from the previous seasons.

Sadly, the going rumor is that PRRPM will be the last Power Rangers series from The Walt Disney Company. They have the option to keep the franchise going, or sell it off. If the end comes, it'll be a sad day for all ranger fans. Disney didn't really want the Power Rangers franchise when they bought Fox Family, but the Saban Library was a part of the deal.

Here is a list of the episodes coming to ABC Kids in the United States this month. Please check your local listings and "Power Rangers On-Air Central" by BurgundyRanger for a complete ABC Affiliate list and his other goodies.:
10. Ranger Blue (5\2\09)
11. Doctor K (5\9\09)
12. Blitz (5\16\09)
13. Brother's Keeper (5\23\09)
* May 30's episode is preempted.
-----------------------------------------------
END NOTES:
+If PRRPM is the last PR series, feel free to enjoy my PRKW and future series even more. I plan on doing my adaptations for a while...at least until 2012, Power Rangers' twentieth anniversary year. I will write the scripts as long as Japan continues the Super Sentai Rangers series.

However, I would like to see the following genres...metro/civic (sorta like GoGo-V/PRLR), underwater, or another space-like series (like PRIS).

+So, that does it for this month. As with Shinkenger (along with Kendo Warriors) and R.P.M., all rumors are subject to change, and are considered rumor until it is confirmed. I will post another RN&V Newsletter on or right before June 1, 2009, and the PRKW scripts will continue every Friday as scheduled.

MAY THE POWER PROTECT YOU ALL!
