EXT.-SOUTH KOREA-JUNGLE-DAY
[On a beautiful day, we see a young man, twenty years of age, named Shawn, who is dressed in nothing but a loincloth, playing with a group of panda bears, until he senses danger. He then sets out to investigate. Shawn climbs up to the top of a mountain to witness a laser beam shoot down a white Cessna aircraft, which crashes in the distance. Shawn then goes for a closer look. After escaping the downed aircraft, Doctor Piper McCall, who is dressed in a pair of slacks, and a pink button-down, long-sleeved blouse is carrying a small silver briefcase, and heads for a cave.]
PIPER McCALL:
I got to get this to the cave before dusk!
[Shawn drops in from a tree branch above, as Piper clutches the briefcase closely against her chest.]
SHAWN PATRICK:
(stuttering)
A-nother hu-human? Are you American?
[A horde of soldiers dressed in brown and black fabric, called Banshees drop in from the treetops.]
PIPER McCALL:
(shouting)
Look out!
SHAWN PATRICK:
(puzzled)
What are those?
PIPER McCALL:
(taking a defensive stance)
They're Banshees...take cover!
[Piper takes on the Banshees by herself.]
SHAWN PATRICK:
(thinking to himself)
What am I gonna do?
VOICE:
(whispering)
Spirit of the tiger...shout.
SHAWN PATRICK:
What? The tiger?
(realizing what to do)
Here it goes...
[Shawn let's put a primal scream, that sends a sonic blast to the Banshees, who then vanish, and the two humans can finally relax.]
PIPER McCALL:
How'd you do that?
SHAWN PATRICK:
It just came to me.
PIPER McCALL:
To answer your question from earlier, yes...I am an American. What are you doing way out here?
SHAWN PATRICK:
My name is Shawn. I was from Angel Grove, California. Two years ago, I went on a school sponsored expedition for Angel Grove Community College. I was separated, and ultimately left behind. Since then, I have become a survivalist, and have lived off of the land.
PIPER McCALL:
My name is Piper, but my friends call me "Pipes." I work at a martial arts academy near Stone Canyon. You're more than welcome to come back with me.
[Mantisko (Banshegata mode) drops in from the treetops.]
MANTISKO:
Hand over that bracelet, lady!
PIPER McCALL:
No way! You'll never get the Demon Bracelet!
[Mantisko demonstrates some of his Dark Mantis-Style moves to Shawn and Piper.]
Ah, a Mantis-Fist...I think it's time for you to experience a Light Leopard-Style warrior!
MANTISKO:
I'll cut you down!
PIPER McCALL:
We'll see...come and get some bug spray!
MANTISKO:
(charging at Piper)
Bring it!
[Piper and Mantisko go into battle. Both perform punches, kicks, and chops against each other. During the scuffle, Mantisko injures Piper's upper left arm, just above the elbow, which sends the briefcase flying through the air. Wile in mid-air, the case opens up, depositing the bracelet at Shawn's feet.]
PIPER and MANTISKO:
(split screen)
The bracelet!
[Shawn let's loose another tiger scream, which Mantisko responds by cutting down some tree limbs onto Shawn, who seems crushed by them.]
MANTISKO:
(picking up the bracelet)
I believe this belongs to the Almozar!
[Mantisko vanishes with the bracelet...Piper tries to follow.]
EXT.-FLASHBACK-NIGHT
[In a rainstorm, a young boy named Jordan is visible, while pain, destruction, and suffering is depicted in the background.]
INT.-ALMOZAR PALACE-DAY
[The older version of the boy wakes up. The palace is reminiscent of a midevil palace, since it appears that the only light is by torches on the wall. We see a humanoid being, clad in black and gold lion-like armor...his name is Lionix. A female lizard-like warrior in green and purple armor, named Reptiza appears in front of Lionix, and tries to wrap her metallic tongue around his head to seduce him, but Lionix deflects it, and knocks Reptiza to the ground.]
LIONIX:
Reptiza! You are foolish to try that!
REPTIZA:
Apologies, my lord.
EXT.-ALMOZAR PALACE-COURTYARD-DAY
[Mantisko arrives, flocked by a horde of Banshees. Mantisko then enters the doors of the palace.]
INT.-ALMOZAR PALACE-DAY
[Mantisko enters the palace, and walks toward Lionix.]
LIONIX:
Mantisko...report?
MANTISKO:
My lord! I have what you seek!
[Mantisko gives Lionix the Demon Bracelet, then Lionix puts the bracelet on is left wrist.]
LIONIX:
Excellent work, Mantisko. Now...
(thrusting his fist into the air, and reciting a spell)
Kurayami kunshu...mezamesasuru! {Darkness monarchs...awaken!}
[Energies from the bracelet are released, and flow into a large medallion.]
DARK-SPIRIT MASTER #1:
Lionix...you have done well in our place, and revived us as promised. Punish those responsible for our imprisonment.
LIONIX:
It will be an honor!
(turns to Mantisko)
Destroy the city!
MANTISKO:
With pleasure!
INT.-JUNGLE FURY ACADEMY-WEIGHT ROOM-DAY
[In a building with white interiors, a warrior wakes up in a weight room, on a bench.]
SHAWN PATRICK:
(confused)
Where am I?
[Shawn gets up from the bench, and goes to a plate glass window that looks down onto a gymnasium floor. He sees two other teenagers, one in a blue outfit, named Yoshi and the other in yellow, named Abby practicing. Shawn gets a bit excited and heads out the door, down some stairs, and into the gym. Just as he enters, he sees their spirit auras battle each other.]
INT.-JUNGLE FURY ACADEMY-GYMNASIUM-DAY
[The two teenagers are surprised to see Shawn standing before them.]
ABBY McHENRY:
Are you okay? Doctor Piper told us what happened.
SHAWN PATRICK:
I'm fine...what...
[Enter Piper.]
PIPER McCALL:
I see you're awake. Please come with me. Master Tao is waiting for us in the classroom.
INT.-JUNGLE FURY ACADEMY-CLASSROOM-DAY
[The classroom is a room with a conference table and chairs in the middle, sofas on the sides, and a row of computers on one side. Master Tao, a tall orangish-yellow lynx-like cat dressed in a purple or navy blue roe sits at the head of the table.]
[Enter Piper, Shawn, Yoshi, and Abby. They sit at the table.]
MASTER TAO:
Ah, Shawn...welcome to the Jungle Fury Academy. You already know Doctor McCall...I am your instructor, Master Tao. Students, please introduce yourselves.
YOSHI TANAKA:
I am Yoshihiro Tanaka...but you can call me Yoshi.
ABBY McHENRY:
I am Abigail McHenry...but please call me, Abby.
SHAWN PATRICK:
Very nice to meet you. I am Shawn...Patrick. What was that I saw in the gym?
PIPER McCALL:
That was the Beast-Spirit...a form of martial arts. They are training for the day that they will become...Power Rangers.
MASTER TAO:
A long time ago, my ancestors sealed away demons in a bracelet, which was to be secured every one hundred years, on the day of a lunar eclipse...that is what Piper was doing this morning, when she was interrupted by an army of Banshee warriors, and a Banshegata. When in a fierce battle, the Banshegata can evolve into a mighty Akugata being.
PIPER McCALL:
The only problem, is that the Almozar, the leaders of the Banshees also use the Beast-Spirit, but for evil purposes.
EXT.-ALMOZAR PALACE-COURTYARD-DAY
[Lionix walks out to the courtyard, flanked by Reptiza and Mantisko (one on each side). He is preparing his Banshees for an attack.]
LIONIX:
Banshees! A glorious time is upon us! With our attacks, this planet will tremble with fear...and belong to us once more! No, go and create chaos and destruction!
INT.-JUNGLE ACADEMY-CLASSROOM-DAY
[Shawn senses the impending attack.]
ABBY McHENRY:
Shawn, what going on?
SHAWN PATRICK:
(sniffing the air)
I sense trouble...the same before Doctor Piper's airplane crashed.
PIPER McCALL:
The Almozar.
MASTER TAO:
Then I think that it is time for these...
[Master Tao puts three rectangular briefcases onto the table, one in front of each teen.]
These will give you more power to battle the Almozar...these are your Jungle Morphers.
[Each teen opens the lid of the case. Inside is a two piece device inserted into molded foam. The teens take out each piece and puts them on onto their wrists.]
Congratulations...you three are now the Jungle Power Rangers. Now go...the city needs you!
[Exit rangers.]
EXT.-CITY-DAY
[Mantisko arrives and sheds his Banshegata form, and changes into a Mantis-like Akugata monster.]
MANTISKO:
Now, to get their attention...Manticut!
[Mantisko cuts a concrete bridge span in two.]
ABBY McHENRY:
[pointing to the Akugata]
There he is!
YOSHI TANAKA:
Ready?
ABBY McHENRY:
Ready!
YOSHI TANAKA and ABBY McHENRY:
(pressing the morphing button after they perform the Beast Fist wushu gesture)
Jungle Fury, Beast On!
[The blue and yellow ranger suits form over the duo.]
BLUE JUNGLE RANGER:
Spirit of the panther...Blue Jungle Ranger!
YELLOW JUNGLE RANGER:
Spirit of the cheetah...Yellow Jungle Ranger! Aura of speed, release!
[Abby's cheetah aura is released onto Mantisko.]
[Yoshi shows off a few moves, and duck some Banshee attacks, then prepares to release his aura.]
BLUE JUNGLE RANGER:
Aura of sight, release!
[Yoshi's panther aura is released onto some Banshees...several are defeated.]
SHAWN PATRICK:
Okay...Jungle Fury, Beast On!
[Shawn's morph fails to materialize since he hasn't master the technique.]
LITTLE GIRL:
(starts to cry)
Quit destroying my city!
SHAWN PATRICK:
(angerly)
Hey! You heard the girl! Knock it off!
[Mantisko picks up a small white car, and leaps to the top of the bridge.]
MANTISKO:
Ooh! Boo-hoo-hoo! More despair...more power!
[Mantisko drops the car onto another white car, forming an upside-down "T," then goes after the girl.]
Oh, little girl!
[The girl screams in horror as he picks her up.]
(to Shawn) Have some fire!
[Mantisko throws some fireballs at Shawn.]
SHAWN PATRICK:
(getting really angry)
Leave her alone! Tiger Roar!
[Shawn produces a sonic tiger scream.]
Jungle Fury, Beast On!
[Shawn begins to morph into the Red Ranger.]
RED JUNGLE RANGER:
Spirit of the tiger! Red Jungle Ranger!
ALL RANGERS:
Spirit of the jungle! Power Rangers, roar!
(heroic pose)
Attack and defend!
[Shawn lands a right-handed punch into the gut of Mantisko.]
MANTISKO:
(angerly)
You'll pay for that, Red Ranger!
[Shawn and Mantisko battle...hard.]
RED JUNGLE RANGER:
(yelling)
Tiger Strike!
[Shawn attacks Mantisko with a bicycle kick, Mantisko lands into the side of a building, and seems defeated.)
BLUE JUNGLE RANGER:
Yeah!
RED JUNGLE RANGER:
Alright!
INT.-ALMOZAR PALACE-DAY
[Lionix knows of Mantisko's near defeat.]
LIONIX:
(telepathically)
Mantisko...you are nor defeated yet...grow and continue your reign of terror and destruction!
EXT.-CITY-DAY
[Mantisko recovers, then taunts the rangers.]
MANTISKO:
(growing to 150ft. tall)
I'm gonna cut you all down into little bits!
[Mantisko stalks the rangers, then the air from his stomping knocks the rangers down.]
