PRPS #17-Robbie And The Angry Robot

INT.-CITY-FUTURE SCIENCES INSTITUTE-LOBBY-DAY
[Four scientists walk out of a hallway, and into the lobby of the building.]

SCIENTIST #1:
We can’t put money toward an expensive power supply unit!

AARON SINCLAIR:
Why not?

[Robbie and Mari enter the building. They were hired to clean and organize the records room. Robbie recognizes one of the scientists.]

ROBBIE MENDOZA:
We are from Park Ridge Trade Services...Aaron?

AARON SINCLAIR:
Well, if it isn’t Robbie Mendoza! Haven’t seen you since...

AARON SINCLAIR AND ROBBIE MENDOZA:
High School!

[The two hug and shake hands a bit.]

AARON SINCLAIR:
Last I heard you had all of a sudden left your job at that brokerage. Why?

ROBBIE MENDOZA:
My Brother-In-Law passed away, so I stepped in for him...and for my sister. This is Mari.

[Mari is a bit infuriated by Aaron’s remark, and Robbie has to calm her down by a window in view of D’Gol. Aaron exudes an orangish aura, and his robotic creation enters the lobby as another scientist tries to stop it.]

EXT.-CITY-FUTURE SCIENCES INSTITUTE-DAY
[D’Gol is a bit angered to see that the Blue Ranger is in the building.]

D’GOL:
What!? The Blue Ranger! He may ruin my plans!

[D’Gol then raises his sword to deliver a lightning-based attack to get rid of him...but something stops him.]

GOLD PALEO RANGER:
(as he fires a blast from his gauntlet)
D’Gol! Thought I smelled a cheating rat!

D’GOL:
(angry...as usual)
You!

[The two engage in a fierce swordfight. After a bit, D’Gol’s chest glows.]

I have to find another host soon. This Cambeast is dying.

[D’Gol retreats, and vanish.]

GOLD PALEO RANGER:
What vile scheme are you up to, D’Gol!?

INT.-CITY-FUTURE SCIENCES INSTITUTE-ROBOTICS LAB-DAY
[Two scientists exit the lab, and discuss the robot’s recent malfunction.]

SCIENTIST #1:
Why do you think it’s malfunctioning?

SCIENTIST #2:
Could be the emotions circuit.

SCIENTIST #1:
Maybe we should cancel Dr. Sinclair’s project.

[Robbie enters the lab, and marvels at his friend’s work. Aaron then quietly enters the lab.]

ROBBIE MENDOZA:
Man, Aaron...you have out-done yourself!

AARON SINCLAIR:
Thanks. This robot is fully capable of many tasks. It will be a boon to mankind...but my superiors don’t think so. I need a few components for the final software installation...and with that last malfunction, they won’t give them to me.

ROBBIE MENDOZA:
You have done very well after high school.

AARON SINCLAIR:
Unlike you, who went from working in a brokerage to working odd jobs. You are a failure, just like me...going from a prime job to a remedial one.

[Robbie looks a bit upset, as does Aaron, who exudes the orangish aura again. The robot activates, and goes berserk just as Robbie notices it. The robot attacks Robbie, and Aaron tries to help, but is held back by D’Gol. Robbie struggles with the robot, and sees D’Gol.]

D’GOL:
Yes...get angry, Doctor Sinclair. He’s just another piece of garbage, no better than those clowns who hold you back. More of the orange aura exudes from Aaron, and the robot gets stronger.]

EXT.-CITY-FUTURE SCIENCES INSTITUTE-DAY
[Some of the scientists evacuate the lab with Robbie and the robot following. Robbie tries to overpower the robot, but it is just too strong. Ken leaps in with his Ptera Baton to break the hold. Two Cambeasts, armed with their clubs materialize. Ken and Robbie battle the two minions just as the others arrive firing their Paleo Blasters. The six then activate their Paleo Chargers, and prepare their morphing devices.]

ALL:
Let’s Rock!

[The six morph into Paleo Rangers, and battle the two Cambeasts as the Blue Ranger continues to battle the robot...which it overpowers the ranger to send him rolling. The Blue Ranger recovers to his feet just as the Green and Pink Rangers are sent rolling toward him. One of the Cambeasts uses it’s Beastial Blade to deliver an energy wave to send the Red, Black, and Gold Rangers toward the other three.]

LUKURO:
(as he brushes some water onto the Beastial Blades to enhance them with spikes)
Ah, all the rangers in a pretty little pile! This ought to finish things up for good!

[The two Cambeasts with their enhanced Beastial Blades face the rangers, who have already recovered to their feet. Lukuro then escorts the robot back inside the building. The Blue Ranger tries to get past the Cambeasts, but has trouble.]

BLUE PALEO RANGER:
Let me through!

RED PALEO RANGER:
(holding up the Archenon Paleo Charger)
Let’s use this.

BLACK PALEO RANGER:
Daric! You know how dangerous that thing is?

RED PALEO RANGER:
(as he loads the battery into his blaster, and fires it)
Robbie can handle it.

[The side effect from the Paleo Charger creates a powerful gravity field. Everyone falls to the ground, and talks slowly as the Blue Ranger crawls to the lobby of the building to escape the field.]

INT.-CITY-FUTURE SCIENCES INSTITUTE-LOBBY-DAY
[The Blue Ranger enters the building, and escapes the gravity field.]

INT.-CITY-FUTURE SCIENCES INSTITUTE-ROBOTICS LAB-DAY
[Lukuro taps on the computer keyboard.]

LUKURO:
There! All power from the building has been rerouted to this computer.

AARON SINCLAIR:
(as he presses the “enter” key)
Install final programming software!

[Robbie runs into the lab to try to get through to his friend. He uses his Paleo Blaster to try to blast D’Gol, but the weapon is deflected onto the floor. Robbie is then knocked to the ground, stomped on by D’Gol, then is assaulted by Lukuro.]

ROBBIE MENDOZA:
Aaron! Think about what you are doing!

[D’Gol gave Aaron the emotion circuit that is inside the robot.]

D’GOL:
This host has fallen. Your robot will now serve as my new permanent body!

[D’Gol’s body parts get off of the Cambeast host, which dissolves on the floor of the lab. The body parts of D’Gol fly around the lab, and attach onto the robot like a parasite.]

ROBBIE MENDOZA:
So...that’s your plan! Aaron! He plans to use your robot...something that you created for the good of mankind for evil!

[Robbie overpowers Lukuro in order to recover to his feet, and knock the War Knight off of him. Robbie then goes over to literally knock some sense into his friend, and socks him in the face with a closed fist.]

Remember what made you what you are!

FLASHBACK
[Robbie and Aaron help a wheelchair-bound boy, try to get him to walk, but the boy is in so much pain, that Aaron thinks up of a robot aide to help the boy.]

INT.-CITY-FUTURE SCIENCES INSTITUTE-ROBOTICS LAB-DAY
[Robbie continues to talk to Aaron.]

AARON SINCLAIR:
I am trying to help people. You gave up that!

ROBBIE MENDOZA:
You see my “odd jobs” position as remedial...but I am still helping people.

[Robbie tries to battle D’Gol, but is met with electrical lightning bolts. Seeing this, Aaron races to the computer, and enters a code to do a force-shutdown of the robot. D’Gol sparks, and cackles in blue energy bolts. Robbie rushes to retrieve his Paleo Blaster and squeezes off a shot to D’Gol, who unleashes a fury of lightning bolts.]

Come on! Run for it!

[The two evacuate the lab, run for outside.]

EXT.-CITY-FUTURE SCIENCES INSTITUTE-DAY
[Robbie and Aaron run outside, and off to the side of the building, where the Gold Ranger runs in to check on them, soon joined by the others.]

AARON SINCLAIR:
Whoa! Power Rangers!

ROBBIE MENDOZA:
(as he grabs his Paleo Charger, and prepares his blaster)
I am helping people, Aaron. I have not given that up. Let’s Rock!

[Robbie spins the barrel of the Paleo Blaster, and presses the trigger. The Blue Ranger suit forms over Robbie’s body.]

BLUE PALEO RANGER:
Now...get to safety.

[Aaron nods his head in agreement, and gets to a safe area. D’Gol exits the building, and has trouble walking, since the shutdown is affecting the motor skills of the robot...and the Red Ranger mocks him.]

ALL RANGERS:
(posing)
We Are The Bravest Heroes! Power Rangers...Paleo Strike!

[D’Gol let’s go of the robot, and assimilates one of the two Cambeasts. The six rangers battle D’Gol, the Cambeast, and several MaZoDe, who have just materialized from the ground, and use both weapon, and hand-to-hand combat on them.]

BLUE PALEO RANGER:
Jurassic Mode, Engage! Jurassic Shield!

[The Blue Ranger uses his weapon on the Cambeast and D’Gol as the Gold Ranger assists him with his Ptera Baton. The Blue Ranger then throws his shield like a boomerang to strike D’Gol, who then deflects it with his sword...it then returns to strike the Cambeast. The two rangers then double team the Cambeast.]

D’GOL:
(while drenching the Cambeast with Lukuro’s watering can and restorative water)
You’re not done yet!

[The Cambeast enlarges, and pounds the ground with it’s club.]

RED PALEO RANGER:
Tyranno! Kylo!

PINK PALEO RANGER:
Tricera!

[The three Paleozords arrive in the city, and the trio form the Paleo Megazord’s Defender Mode.]

ALL CORE RANGERS:
Paleo Megazord...Defender Mode! Kylo Smasher!

[The megazord battles the Cambeast...hammer to club...and the minion uses the club to overpower the megazord’s drill arm. Soon, the Gold Ranger and his Pteranodon Paleozord fly in, and he forms the Ptera Megazord.]

GOLD PALEO RANGER:
Ptera Megazord! Guys...let me borrow Kylo, and you guys can call on Stego to use the Stego Saber.

[The Paleo Megazord releases the Ankylosaur Paleozord, and the Stegosaurus Paleozord attaches to form the right arm, while Kylo attaches onto the Ptera Megazord’s right arm.]

ALL CORE RANGERS:
Paleo Megazord! Stego Saber!

GOLD PALEO RANGER:
Ptera Megazord...Defender Mode!

[The Ptera Megazord leaps upward, and spins around with it’s hammer arm.]

Ptera Hammering Cyclone!

[The megazord spin-strikes the Cambeast to weaken the minion.]

Now, guys!

ALL CORE RANGERS:
Paleo Slash!

[The megazord uses it’s sword to slash through the Cambeast, which falls backward, and explodes. The megazords pose victoriously on the ground as the rangers celebrate in the cockpits.]

ALL RANGERS:
Yeah!

INT.-ANTARCTICA-FROZEN CASTLE-NIGHT
[D’Gol is extremely furious at the loss.]

SENTRY:
I can provide you with as many Cambeasts as possible. Remain patient!

[Sentry walks out of the room.]

D’GOL:
(even more infuriated)
That won’t do, Sentry...I need a living body like to act as my host.
