EXT.-FOREST-DAY
[Tsumaka and Monukye are in the forest, plotting.]
TSUMAKA:
My way of dealing with those pesky rangers is to "play with my prey" first...then destroy them...they are the mice, and I am the cat. I have a plan to put into action.
INT.-CITY-DOJO-JOSH'S QUARTERS-DAY
[Josh is loading up a backpack with granola bars and bottled water. He then carefully places a chess board and a bag of chess pieces into the backpack as well. Soon, there is a knock at the partially opened door.]
TRIST EMERSON:
Yo! Josh! Ready to go?
JOSH TURNER:
(as he pockets his Yellow Morph Shuriken, zips his pack.)
Yeah. Let's get going!
[Josh puts his backpack on, leaves the room, turning off the light, and closing the door as he goes.]
INT.-CITY-FOREST HILLS HIGH SCHOOL-GYMNASIUM-DAY
[In a brightly-lit gymnasium, people mill about on the gym's floor around tables set up for chess.]
BROOK PADILLA:
I better get to my seat. Good luck, guys!
[A man on a stage at a microphone stand announces.]
ANNOUNCER:
Spectators, please make your way to your seats. Participants, please find your table and seat, and set up your boards.
[Everyone makes their way to their seats, and the tournament can get started.]
Ladies and gentlemen...the "Annual Forest Hills Chess Club Memorial Day Tournament" is now underway.
[The participants get to playing their first games.]
EXT.-CITY-FOREST HILLS HIGH SCHOOL-DAY
[A platoon of Oni and Kageoni scout around the school-grounds near the gym. On their way to watch the final rounds of the tournament, the remaining students (Ian, X, and Izzy) see the minions pick up a dropped chess piece, and give it to Tsumaka.]
IAN FROST:
Drop that chess piece, Tsumaka!
TSUMAKA:
(as he slaps a corrupted Shuriken onto the chess piece)
Let's have some fun, first! Chess Rage! I, Tsumaka summon you to battle!
[Chess Rage takes his shape...a four-headed Rage whose heads represent Bishop, Knight, Pawn, and Rook. The three students prepare to morph.]
ALL STUDENTS:
Morph Shuriken, Set!
[The three spin their Shurikens on their weapons to morph.]
Shinobi Power!
[The Shinobi Ranger suits form over the bodies of the three students. The three rangers take on the minions as Tsumaka and his Rage continue toward the gym.]
TSUMAKA:
(To his Rage)
Lets' continue on.
RED SHINOBI RANGER:
(over his communicator)
Brook...come in!
voice of BROOK PADILLA:
What's up, Ian? Where are you guys?
RED SHINOBI RANGER:
Outside with some company! Tsumaka and a Rage are heading toward the gym!
INT.-CITY-FOREST HILLS HIGH SCHOOL-GYMNASIUM-DAY
[Brook, still on her phone, acknowledges the call.]
BROOK PADILLA:
Right. I will warn Josh and Trist as soon as I can!
[Brook hangs up the phone, and sees Trist during a break before the finals.]
Trist! The others ran into some trouble outside. Ian says that Tsumaka and a Rage Monster are heading this way.
voice of ANNOUNCER:
(as everyone looks toward the stage)
Ladies and gentlemen. The participants in the finals are...Aaron Smith and...Joshua Turner! The championship match will start in a few minutes. Can I have Mister Smith and Mister Turner backstage please.
TRIST EMERSON:
Well. Guess I can go help the others outside.
BROOK PADILLA:
I'll try to get word to Josh.
[Suddenly, Tsumaka and Chess Rage enter the gym with a platoon of Kageoni.]
CHESS RAGE:
Checkmate, this!
[Chess Rage starts to turn everyone into large, over-sized chess pieces. Backstage, Josh hears the commotion, and sees what is going on.]
JOSH TURNER:
Aaron. There is some monster out there, turning everyone into chess pieces. We need to get to safety.
AARON SMITH:
(in doubt, looking through the curtain)
Let me see.
[Aaron sees that Josh is telling the truth, and makes a run for it. Josh enters the gym, cautiously, and sees the large chess pieces...including an all pink one, and an all gold one.]
JOSH TURNER:
Brook! Trist!
[Josh grabs his Shuriken, and summons his katana. He sets the Shuriken onto the katana, and spins it to morph into the Yellow Ranger. Soon, several Kageoni enter the room with large chess pieces in red, blue, and white.]
YELLOW SHINOBI RANGER:
Oh, no! Not them too!?
TSUMAKA:
Ah yes...the rangers! Wait! Where's the yellow one?
[The Kageoni shrug their shoulders.]
He must be around here somewhere. Keep an eye out for him!
[The Yellow Ranger is hiding amongst the large chess pieces. He has the Fusion Shuriken, and sets it onto his katana to summon more katanas. With the multiple katanas, the Yellow Ranger gets to work on launching various Fury Slash maneuvers in coordinated attacks to take out several of the minions. Yellow then sets the Ninja Ranger Legend Shuriken, and creates clones of himself to get through the remaining minions, and attack the Rage.]
CHESS RAGE:
There he is!
TSUMAKA:
What!?
[The real Yellow Ranger comes out of hiding.]
YELLOW SHINOBI RANGER:
(slapping the Tri-Star onto his katana, then his Yellow Shuriken)
It's my move now! Tri-Star, Set! Yellow Shuriken, Set!
[The Yellow Ranger spins his Shuriken, then spins the Tri-Star.]
Shinobi Star Slash!
[The blade of the katana glows in a yellow hue, and cackles in yellow energy bolts. Yellow then rushes at the Rage, leaps up, and slashes him down the middle, head to toe. Chess Rage sparks, and collapses in defeat as the Yellow Ranger lands on the gym floor, holding his katana blade downward.]
YELLOW SHINOBI RANGER:
Gotcha!
[With the defeat, all the chess pieces revert to their previous human selves...including the other students. The remaining minions drag the Rage's body outside as Yellow powers down in exhaustion.]
IAN FROST:
You did great, dude! Ready for round two?
JOSH TURNER:
Yeah. Let's go!
EXT.-CITY-FOREST HILLS HIGH SCHOOL-ATHLETIC FIELD-DAY
[The six ninjas rush to see Chess Rage revive and enlarge. The six rangers set their Morph Shurikens onto their blades, with the core five pressing the red Morph Button on their Katana Morphers and Gold pressing a button on his Riff LaserBlade.]
ALL STUDENTS:
Morph Shuriken, Set!
[The six spin their Shurikens on their weapons to morph.]
Shinobi Power!
[The Shinobi Ranger suits form over the bodies of the six students.]
RED SHINOBI RANGER:
(posing)
With The Element Of Fire! Red Shinobi Ranger!
BLUE SHINOBI RANGER:
(posing)
With The Element Of Water! Blue Shinobi Ranger!
YELLOW SHINOBI RANGER:
(posing)
With The Element Of Earth! Yellow Shinobi Ranger!
WHITE SHINOBI RANGER:
(posing)
With The Element Of Weather! White Shinobi Ranger!
PINK SHINOBI RANGER:
(posing)
With The Element Of Air! Pink Shinobi Ranger!
GOLD SHINOBI RANGER:
(posing)
With The Element Of Music! Gold Shinobi Ranger!
ALL RANGERS:
(posing)
We Are Shinobi...But We Don't Hide! Power Rangers, hya!
RED SHINOBI RANGER:
Let's go big, guys!
[The Shinobizords all arrive, and the rangers board them. Immediately, the Shinobi Megazord and Rodeo Megazord are formed. The megazords take on the Rage in a two-on-one battle for a bit.
RED SHINOBI RANGER:
(utilizing the Fusion Shuriken)
Shuriken Combine!
[The Shinobi Megazord and Rodeo Megazord break apart into their components, and combine into the...]
ALL RANGERS:
Shuriken Megazord, Ready To Ride!
[The Red Ranger leaps out of the control seat to relinquish it to the Yellow Ranger.]
RED SHINOBI RANGER:
This is your fight Josh. The ultimate chess match.
[The Yellow Ranger hops in, and takes control.]
YELLOW SHINOBI RANGER:
I Call On The Shinobi Elephant And UFO!
PINK SHINOBI RANGER:
What are you about to do, Josh?
YELLOW SHINOBI RANGER:
I've been studying up on the zord schematics the last couple nights. Watch and learn!
[The two auxiliary zords transform into their humanoid forms. Yellow then places the Elephant Shuriken onto the control panel. The Warrior Shinobizord hops down from the combination, and the Elephant hops on.]
Shuriken Megazord! Armor Mode!
[The megazord holds the Tri-Shuriken Saber in the right hand, and a Tusk Axe in the left hand.]
ALL RANGERS:
Shuriken Slash-Chop!
[The new combination slashes with the Tri-Shuriken Saber, and chops with the Tusk Axe. This attack makes the Rage spark and cackle with green energy bolts. The Elephant leaps off of the combination, and the UFO leaps on.]
YELLOW SHINOBI RANGER:
Shuriken Megazord! Alien Mode!
[The megazord still holds the Tri-Shuriken Saber in the right hand, but now holds the Saucer Blaster in the left hand.
ALL RANGERS:
Shuriken Slash-Blast!
[The megazord slashes with the Tri-Shuriken Saber, and blasts with the Saucer Blaster. The Rage looks to be severely wavering. The UFO hops off of the combination, and the Warrior Shinobizord leaps back on for the Shuriken Megazord's default form.
Shuriken Cross Slash!
[The megazord executes it's finisher to finish the Rage with a three-way slash. Chess Rage sparks, and cackles in yellow energy bolts before exploding.]
YELLOW SHINOBI RANGER:
(leaping out of the control seat, yelling in celebration)
Checkmate!
INT.-CITY-FOREST HILLS HIGH SCHOOL-GYMNASIUM-DAY
[Since everyone is back to normal, the Championship Match takes place. Josh and Aaron seem evenly matched, and quickly work through the match. Soon, Josh is able to move one of his white pieces several spots to capture several of Aaron's black pieces, enough to win the match.]
JOSH TURNER:
(calmly)
Checkmate!
ANNOUNCER:
This declares that the winner of the Annual Forest Hills Chess Club Memorial Day Tournament is Joshua "Checkmate" Turner.
[The crowd (and the Frost Dojo students) erupt in cheers and celebration in the stands. The two finalists shake hands.]
AARON SMITH:
Good job, Josh! Good job!
JOSH TURNER:
Hey! You did great too!
[The five dojo students, led by Trist make their way down to the floor and celebrate with Josh as the Tournament Director hands the trophy over to Josh, and he hoists it over his head.]
