EXT.-FOREST-DAY
[Shawn and Kenny are out for a walk. After a bit, the two students get separated.]
SHAWN PATRICK AND KENNY TANAKA:
(split-screen)
Oh, oh!
[All of a sudden, Shawn hears a flute being played.]
SHAWN PATRICK:
What's that!?
[Shawn hops into the trees to search for where the sound is coming from. He sees that Chimeres is the one playing the flute at the edge of a cliff. Shawn approaches, and touches the being. Shawn's hand is slightly burned while touching him. Soon, Kenny arrives.]
KENNY TANAKA:
(charging)
Wolf Fury...Beast On!
[The Royal Wolf Ranger grabs onto Chimeres and pushes him off of the cliff. Chimeres and the Royal Wolf Ranger battle. Chimeres moves his arms about...the ranger recognizes the movements.]
ROYAL WOLF JUNGLE RANGER:
(whispering to himself)
No...it can't...be...Chris!?
[Chimeres knocks the Royal Wolf Ranger back. When the ranger recovers, Chimeres is gone. Shawn then rejoins his comrade.]
SHAWN PATRICK:
What was that about?
ROYAL WOLF JUNGLE RANGER:
I don't know...power down!
[The Royal Wolf Ranger suit vanishes. the two students look puzzled.]
INT.-JUNGLE FURY ACADEMY-TRAINING ROOM-DAY
[Shawn and Kenny tell of their encounter with Chimeres to the others.]
KENNY TANAKA:
I'm telling you...that Phantom General's arm movements were similar to Chris'.
JAZZ RUSSO:
Who's Chris?
MASTER TAO:
(while flashback images appear on screen)
Years ago, Piper, Chris, Jordan, and Kenny were my students. Chris and Jordan were both trying to learn the Light Tiger-Style, so they formed a rivalry...but, I had to chose one, and Chris was the one I chose, since he was more skilled...Jordan took it personally, and battled Chris.
SHAWN PATRICK:
So Jordan was mad, and took it out on him.
PIPER McCALL:
Yes...enough to battle freely inside and outside the Sacred Ground.
KENNY TANAKA:
Chris and Jordan met in the forest. Jordan revealed his plans to master the Dark-Spirits...Chris was angry, and confronted Jordan, then both battled each other.
MASTER TAO:
What Jordan didn't know was that Chris wasn't at full strength...Draco had injured him the night before. After the battle with Jordan, Chris died...or so we thought. Draco converted Chris' essence into a Phantom-Spirit Master...
SHAWN PATRICK:
So, who is this Phantom?
KENNY TANAKA:
...Chimeres.
JAZZ RUSSO:
Did Chris have any family?
MASTER TAO:
(hesitating)
He...had a son.
PIPER McCALL:
(going towards Shawn to hold him)
Shawn...you...are his son.
[Everyone, especially Shawn is shocked.]
JAZZ RUSSO:
Whoa!
SHAWN PATRICK:
(even more shocked than the others)
My...father...is a...Phantom!?
[Shawn shows mixed emotions, and starts crying.]
How...come...?
PIPER McCALL:
We didn't know...
MASTER TAO:
Chimeres may only be your father's essence.
SHAWN PATRICK:
(crying)
So...Chimeres is just using...my father's body...and...Beast-Spirit Skills?
MASTER TAO:
Yes, Shawn.
SHAWN PATRICK:
(wiping away the tears)
Is there any hope of bringing my father back?
MASTER TAO:
It is possible.
INT.-ALMOZAR PALACE-DAY
[Draco prepares Lionix for his transformation.]
MASTER DRACO
So...you are ready to become the Phantom Beast King?
[Something bothers Chimeres, who then bolts for the doors, almost knocking Baz down in the process.]
EXT.-CITY-DAY
[Chimeres grows. His shockwave makes blocks of buildings crumble and explode. A few seconds later, the Jungle Fury (in Predator Mode) and Beast Megazords arrive and begin to battle the Phantom-Spirit Master.]
RED FURY RANGER:
That's him!
BLUE FURY RANGER:
We're gonna have to take him down, Shawn.
YELLOW FURY RANGER:
Yeah! Just look what he's done to the city!
RED FURY RANGER:
I understand. Let's do it!
[Chimeres knocks both megazords down. Just then, the White Rhino Ranger arrives in the Rhino Junglezord.]
WHITE RHINO JUNGLE RANGER:
Rhino Junglezord...High Stance Mode!
[The Junglezord "stands up" to form it's warrior mode.]
Megazord Formation, Awaken!
[Chimeres delivers another shockwave, to send all three megazords to the ground.]
ROYAL WOLF JUNGLE RANGER:
Let's join them all!
ALL RANGERS:
Fusion Unity!
[The Rhino Megazord reverts to it's Junglezord form. The Wolf Junglezord separates from the Jungle Fury Megazord, and the Beast Megazord separates, then the zords join together to form the Rhino Fire Megazord.]
Rhino Fire Megazord! Transformation complete! Rhino Fire Strike!
[The megazord performs it's finisher, making Chimeres shrink to size, and severely weakened. In the wreckage of the buildings, Lionix stands over Chimeres' body.]
LIONIX:
You really are pathetic!
[The students arrive, followed by Tao.]
MASTER TAO:
You must not remember the past too well, Jordan.
FLASHBACK
[Jordan versus Chris. Chris palm-punches Jordan, but he counters with an energy-filled palm-punch. Chris falls, and lays dying.]
JORDAN FRANKLIN:
You barely put up a fight...like you're injured or something.
[Jordan rips Chris' shirt revealing an injury sustained earlier.]
CHRIS PATRICK:
I...thought...we...were...friends, Jordan?
JORDAN FRANKLIN:
We were friends...until I started seeing the truth.
[Chris dies.]
EXT.-CITY-DAY
[Lionix still faces the rangers and Tao.]
LIONIX:
And you, Red Ranger...are just like him...probably right down to the birthmark on the chest.
[Dillon unzips Shawn's uniform jacket and lifts up the undershirt to reveal the birthmark on the chest. Chimeres then charges at Shawn. Everyone but Lionix runs off. Then Draco, Fyriza, and Baz approach the lion.]
Draco...I'm ready for conversion. I'm ready to take the throne.
[The Phantoms depart for an abandoned warehouse while the rangers are busy with Chimeres in the quarry.]
EXT.-QUARRY-DAY
[Chimeres takes on his son in a grueling battle. He knees Shawn in the stomach area twice, then punches him. He then throws Shawn around. The others try to help, but they get beaten too as Tao tends to Shawn. Chimeres then stares down the Light-Spirit warriors.]
SHAWN PATRICK:
(recovering)
Chimeres! I am your son! Stop all of this!
[Chimeres shakes his head to say "no." Shawn lets out a primal scream as he charges and tackles Chimeres. The Phantom responds by delivering a beat-down to Shawn, who tries to hug is dear ol' dad. The others recover to see Chimeres shoving Shawn to the ground, and stomping on his chest. The Phantom then picks Shawn up by the scruff of his shirt, then knock-punches him away while the others watch. Everyone goes to comfort Shawn.]
INT.-CITY-ABANDONED WAREHOUSE-DAY
[Draco helps Lionix convert his old Dark-Spirit powers into Phantom-Spirit powers as Fyriza and Baz watch.]
MASTER DRACO:
Lionix...you are destined to be the next Phantom Beast King, and learn the...Phantom Griffin-Style.
[Draco infuses his Phantom energy into Lionix.]
You are ready to assume the throne, your majesty!
EXT.-QUARRY-DAY
[Lionix steps to the edge of a cliff.]
SHAWN PATRICK:
(looking upward)
Lionix!
[The others let out gasps as they look up as well.]
LIONIX:
Your time has run out, rangers! Phantom Transform!
[Lionix changes into Gryphar. The Phantom Generals join him on the edge of the cliff.]
KING GRYPHAR:
I am the new Phantom Beast King...Gryphar!
KENNY TANAKA:
Oh, oh!
MASTER DRACO:
Phantom Dragon...I am Draco!
MASTER BAZ:
Phantom Basilisk...I am Baz!
MISTRESS FYRIZA:
Phantom Phoenix...I am Fyriza!
MASTER CHIMERES:
Phantom Chimera...I am Chimeres!
KING GRYPHAR:
Phantom Griffin...I am the Phantom Beast King...Gryphar! Now, bow to the rulers of Earth!
KENNY TANAKA:
I don't bow to evil!
[Kenny insta-morphs and charges, but Chimeres knocks him down a notch. The others (except Shawn) insta-morph (with the Blue and Yellow Rangers in Fury Mode) join in. The Yellow Ranger battles Fyriza while the White Rhino Ranger and the Blue Ranger battle Baz, who uses a gravity-based attack to make the two rangers fly around, then crash to the ground.]
MISTRESS FYRIZA:
I you can't stand the heat...
[Fyriza uses a flame attack on the Yellow Ranger, to blow her away.]
...then get out of the kitchen!
[Chimeres punches the Royal Wolf Ranger, then sends his aura to attack.]
MASTER TAO:
You are no leader, Jordan!
KING GRYPHAR:
Jordan is dead, Tao...and right now, so is Lionix.
[Gryphar points at Shawn.]
You, Red Ranger...are umber one on my list to be destroyed.
[Gryphar makes a fist, and sends an energy punch to everyone below as the four Phantom Generals flank him. The generals rise as Gryphar leaves the area. The students and Tao struggle to recover. Amidst the flames, Shawn stands up while he is so emotionally tormented.]
SHAWN PATRICK:
(sore and exhausted)
Father.
[Shawn tries to gather his emotions as the others continue to recover. TO BE CONTINUED...]
