INT.-CITY-DOJO-DAY
[On yet another typical day at the dojo, Ryder is teaching his new class, and on his own for the first time. He shows the class a few moves.]
RYDER SWANSON:
Alright class...how 'bout this one?
[Ryder demonstrates a spin move, and promptly slips on a puddle of sweat on the mat, and falls. Chloe sees Ryder go down, and rushes over to him.]
CHLOE WILCOX:
Ryder! Are you okay!?
RYDER SWANSON:
Yeah...the only thing that got hurt was my pride.
[Ryder gets up, and dusts himself off.]
INT.-MECHANICO ISLAND-DAY
[While a new Machine Beast is charging up in the chamber, the three generals discuss their past encounters with the rangers.]
YOGO:
I'm sick and tired of losing to those pesky rangers!
ARGO:
We need a plan...and the new Machine Beast!
METALIA:
Medihaz will be able to take care of that!
[Medihaz emerges from the chamber, ready for action.]
MEDIHAZ:
I'm Medihaz...the needle of pain in the rangers' side!
YOGO:
Good...now, go and wreck havoc on the city!
[Medihaz departs the base.]
EXT.-CITY-DAY
[Medihaz materializes in the city, and uses his powers to destroy some buildings. Moments later, the five "ranger teens" arrive on the scene. They get some citizens to safety before confronting Medihaz.]
MEDIHAZ:
The rangers! Gearoids! Get them!
[Two dozen Gearoids appear, and charge at the "ranger teens."]
RYDER SWANSON:
Let's take them down, guys!
ALL:
Right!
[The "ranger teens" charge at and combat the Gearoids in an un-morphed battle.]
RYDER SWANSON:
You guys finish them off...I'm going after "Pokey!"
[Ryder moves toward the Machine Beast to perform a high-flight kick on him, but Medihaz deflects, and Ryder lands.]
Why, you!
[Ryder then tries the maneuver again, and strikes Medihaz, but lands on his right foot wrong, hurting is right ankle.]
Ow! Ow! Ow!
[Ryder hobbles over to some steps to check his foot...the ankle is throbbing with pain. The other "ranger teens" finish off the Gearoids, then face Medihaz, who retreats. They then rush to Ryder's aid.]
KEIKO OGAWA:
Ryder! Are you okay!?
RYDER SWANSON:
(in pain)
My foot! I landed wrong on it! Might...have broken something!
MATT SANDOVAL:
(kneeling on his knees, rolling up Ryder's pant leg)
Okay, Ry...this may hurt.
[Matt, with his emergency services training, uses his fingers to check Ryder's foot for tenderness. He reaches up to the ankle, and Ryder tenses up.]
Yup...I think your ankle's broken. We better get you to the hospital.
[Brandon and Keiko prop Ryder up. Ryder is favoring his injured ankle.]
JAKE GARABEDIAN:
You guys take Ryder to the hospital. Matt and I will go to the Power Center to report.
KEIKO OGAWA:
Okay.
[The five depart for their destinations.]
INT.-MECHANICO ISLAND-DAY
[Medihaz reports back to the three generals.]
YOGO:
Report!
MEDIHAZ:
The Red Ranger went down! He hurt his foot trying to kick me!
METALIA:
Excellent!
ARGO:
Excellent!? There are still four rangers!
YOGO:
Yes, but the rangers will not be at full strength. Medihaz, I want you to hurt them too!
MEDIHAZ:
After I recharge.
[Medihaz steps over to and into the chamber as all three generals are pleased.]
INT.-CITY-HOSPITAL-EMERGENCY ROOM-DAY
[Brandon and Keiko enter the Emergency Room with Ryder. Doctors and nurses swarm over the patient, and direct the three to an exam room.]
voice of LOUDSPEAKER:
Doctor Saban, to the O-R...Doctor Saban, to the O-R.
NURSE #1:
You guys better go to the waiting room.
RYDER SWANSON:
(with some pain)
Nurse, is it alright if they stay?
INT.-CITY-HOSPITAL-EMERGENCY ROOM-EXAM ROOM-DAY
[The three enter a medium-sized examination room. There is a exam table against one wall with cabinets against the opposite wall, and a group of three to four chairs.]
NURSE #1:
I think it'll be okay. The doctor will be with you in a moment.
[The two nurses exit the exam room, leaving the three "Nitro Ranger teens" alone.]
INT.-MOUNTAINS-POWER CENTER-DAY
[Jake and Matt teleport in..]
MATT SANDOVAL:
Zordon...during the battle, Ryder may have broken his ankle.
ZORDON:
I am aware of the situation, Matt. Some choices may have to be made...but for now, you two should go to the hospital to support your comrade.
INT.-CITY-HOSPITAL-EMERGENCY ROOM-EXAM ROOM-DAY
[The three "teens" are awaiting the doctor.]
RYDER SWANSON;
Guys...I probably won't be morphing for a while.
[Ryder hands Brandon the Red Nitro Morpher and cells ]
Brandon...I want you to hold onto these.
BRANDON CRAWFORD:
Nah, you hold onto them for now.
[The doctor enters the room with the two nurses and a student doctor.]
DOCTOR #1:
(seeing the morpher)
What's that, a new fangled cell-phone?
BRANDON CRAWFORD:
Yeah, it's the latest design model.
[The doctor shrugs off the looks of the phone.]
DOCTOR #1:
(looking at Ryder's medical chart)
Okay, Mister Swanson...you hurt you foot while performing martial arts?
RYDER SWANSON:
Yes, sir...I accomplished the move, but landed wrong.
DOCTOR #1:
I see.
[The doctor puts the chart down, and begins to feel Ryder's already exposed foot as he tenses up.]
RYDER SWANSON:
(while squirming)
May...be you guys should go to the waiting room.
KEIKO OGAWA:
Okay...see 'ya in a bit.
[Brandon and Keiko begin to leave the exam room. They open the door, and exit into the hallway.]
INT.-CITY-HOSPITAL-EMERGENCY ROOM-HALLWAY-DAY
[The doctor's voice is heard as the "teens" begin to walk away from the exam room.]
voice of DOCTOR #1:
We'll have to reset that bone. Now...this won't hurt a bit...
[Ryder screams in agony, and the two "teens" stop in their tracks, and slowly turn around. They're amazed at Ryder's primal scream.]
...now...isn't that better?
INT.-MOUNTAINS-POWER CENTER-DAY
[Adam and Zordon discuss Ryder's injury.]
ZORDON:
Adam...I may have to tell Ryder to leave his morpher and cells here.
ADAM PARK:
I agree, Zordon...but at least until he is ready to resume his duties.
ALPHA SIX:
But, who will be the Red Ranger?
EXT.-CITY-DAY
[Medihaz returns, and blasts more buildings to send citizens running in fear.]
INT.-CITY-HOSPITAL-EMERGENCY ROOM-WAITING ROOM-DAY
[In the waiting room, Jake and Matt have joined Brandon and Keiko. The four answer the call to battle just as Ryder emerges in a black "pressure boot" and a pair of crutches.]
KEIKO OGAWA:
Ryder!
RYDER SWANSON:
Doc says it's a broken ankle...I'll be layed up for six weeks...you'll be down a ranger.
BRANDON CRAWFORD:
Medihaz is back, so we need to go...but Adam wants to see you at the base.
[The five exit the busy hospital and find a safe place to teleport out.]
EXT.-CITY-DAY
[The four "ranger teens" teleport in to face Medihaz.]
MATT SANDOVAL:
Stop it right there, "Sick-o!"
MEDIHAZ:
Ah! Only four of you...did I hurt your "wittle fwiend!?"
KEIKO OGAWA:
You did...and now, we're gonna hurt you!
[The four prepare their morphers.]
Ready, guys!?
ALL FOUR:
Start Up!
[The suits "flash-form" over the quartet.]
ALL RANGERS:
Power Rangers, Let's Go!
MEDIHAZ:
Nice trick! My turn...Gearoids!
[A dozen soldiers materialize, and the rangers charge into battle.]
INT.-MOUNTAINS-POWER CENTER-DAY
[Ryder teleports in He knows that he's gonna have to make a difficult decision.]
ZORDON:
Ryder...first of all, are you okay?
RYDER SWANSON:
The doctor said that my ankle is broken, and is expected to fully heal in about six weeks. I...know...what I must do..
[Ryder puts his morpher and cells onto the computer console table.]
ADAM PARK:
Ryder...you are a tremendous asset to the team. Your powers will be waiting for you.
RYDER SWANSON:
During the next few weeks, I won't be totally away from the team...I intend to help out in any way I can.
[Adam nods in agreement.]
EXT.-CITY-DAY
[Medihaz is getting the best of the four rangers.]
MEDIHAZ:
(laughing)
You four are pathetic with out your leader!
INT.-MOUNTAINS-POWER CENTER-DAY
[Global's alarms rin out to alert the staff to the rangers' struggle against Medihaz...everyone sees that help is needed.]
RYDER SWANSON:
Condor...are you okay with someone else piloting you for a little while?
CONDOR:
I can handle it...you need to focus on getting better.
RYDER SWANSON:
(moving toward Adam)
Adam...I want you to go out there, and defeat that loser.
ADAM PARK:
Ryder...are you sure?
RYDER SWANSON:
I couldn't think of anyone better...besides, Condor won't mind.
ADAM PARK:
Okay, but only until you heal up.
[Adam inserts to Nitro Cell, and prepares to morph.]
Start Up!
[The suit "fully-forms" over Adam's body. The Red Ranger departs the base.]
EXT.-CITY-DAY
[The four rangers continue to receive a beating from Medihaz and the Gearoids...the four rangers go down. Smoke is billowing from a large pile of burning debris.]
MEDIHAZ:
Like I said...pathetic!
[Medihaz notices something coming through the smoke...it's the Red Ranger walking valiantly.]
Huh!? What!? How!?
[The four fallen rangers all gasp (one after the other) in shock.]
RED NITRO RANGER:
Easy...I'm not the ranger you injured. Come on, guys...let's take him down!
Guys...it's me.
YELLOW NITRO RANGER:
Adam?
GREEN DEFENDER RANGER:
Cool!
RED NITRO RANGER:
Alright, guys...let's call on the gear!
[The five rangers stand in a row in their usual formation, and press the "G" symbol on their belt buckles. The chest numbers glow to produce the weapons. After they materialize, the rangers grab their gear, and promptly form the Nitro Defender Cannon. The Red Ranger inserts his Super Nitro Cell.]
ALL RANGERS:
Nitro Defender Cannon! Fire!
[The rangers fire the cannon to knock Medihaz down. The Banki Energy then courses through it's body.]
Yeah!
GREEN DEFENDER RANGER:
That felt good going down!
[Medihaz Industrial Revolutionizes, and grows.]
MEDIHAZ:
I'm like a ad cold that won't go away!
RED NITRO RANGER:
(into his morpher)
Alpha...send the zords!
[A moment later, the six zords (with Orca and Canine riding on top of Gator) arrive. The rangers board the zords, and strap in.]
Let's form the Nitro Defender Megazord, guys!
ALL RANGERS:
Right!
[The rangers put the zords into gear, and combine to form the six-piece megazord.]
GREEN DEFENDER RANGER:
Orca Slicer!
BLACK DEFENDER RANGER:
Canine Blaster!
[The megazord slices and shoots Medihaz, but the dual attacks are not effective.]
MEDIHAZ:
Open wide, and say "ahh!"
[Medihaz blasts the megazord, causing all sorts of sparks.]
ALL RANGERS:
Nitro Defender Kick!
[The megazord kicks Medihaz.]
BLUE NITRO RANGER:
Now, turn and cough!
ALL RANGERS:
Nitro Defender...Grand Prix!
RED NITRO RANGER:
How about a taste of your own medicine!
[The rangers begin to pull out their Steering Blasters. The camera shot changes to the eyes of the megazord glowing, and performing it's attack, and Medihaz explodes.]
YELLOW NITRO RANGER:
That one's for you, Ry!
ALL RANGERS:
Yeah!
[The megazord stands down.]
INT.-MECHANICO ISLAND-NIGHT
[Yogo goes to a counter after finding out that Medihaz failed, and slams his fist down, causing a few bolts of electricity to engulf the fist, and forearm.]
YOGO:
(angerly)
You will pay, rangers!
INT.-MOUNTAINS-POWER CENTER-NIGHT
[The team meets at the base to relax.]
RYDER SWANSON:
Hey, Adam! You were great out there!
CONDOR:
I agree!
ADAM PARK:
I never knew how much power you guys felt while morphing.
RYDER SWANSON:
Well, don't get too comfortable...I'll be back in action before you know it!
[The team cheers and laughs.]
