EXT.-FOREST-DAY
[The Black and Gold Rangers are sparring. The Black Ranger is using his Nitrolizer in Baton Mode, while the Gold Ranger uses his Sky Dagger. After a few minutes of blade-hitting action, a Machine Beast arrives.]
SAWTOOTH:
Try your blades on me, rangers!
GOLD SKY RANGER:
(a bit exhausted)
Gladly! Let's get him, Matt!
[The two rangers battle the Machine Beast. When the two get Sawtooth into a "sandwich" move, they try to strike him with their weapons. During the swing of the weapons, Sawtooth evades the attack, causing the Black Ranger's baton to strike the Gold Ranger, and makes him spark, and collapse a bit.]
BLACK DEFENDER RANGER:
Adam! You alright?
GOLD SKY RANGER:
(while clinching his chest)
Yeah! I'll be fine!
SAWTOOTH:
(laughing)
You two are pathetic!
[Sawtooth vanishes.]
BLACK DEFENDER RANGER:
Shutdown!
GOLD SKY RANGER:
Touchdown!
[The suits vanish from the duo as they de-morph.]
MATT SANDOVAL:
Adam...I'm so sorry!
ADAM PARK:
Matt, don't worry...I'll be okay.
[Matt starts to doubt his ranger abilities as the two head back for the dojo.]
INT.-MECHANICO ISLAND-DAY
[Sawtooth returns to recharge.]
YOGO:
You did well for your first outing, Sawtooth...next time, more destruction.
SAWTOOTH:
I promise, sir.
[Moments later, Sawtooth is fully recharged, and sent back to the city.]
INT.-CITY-DOJO-DAY
[Matt and Adam have returned to the dojo to help open the business for the day. Adam's chest is still hurting a little bit, and Matt still has the look of doubt on his face.]
RYDER SWANSON:
Hey, what happened out there?
ADAM PARK:
During our sparring, a Machine Beast showed up, and...sort of got the best of us.
MATT SANDOVAL:
We got him in a sandwich move, and he ducked...I accidentally hit Adam with my Nitrolizer. I feel so guilty!.
JAKE GARABEDIAN:
Cheer up, Matt.
MATT SANDOVAL:
(angered)
No, Jake! I hurt him while in the line of duty!
[The television near the juice bar counter depicts Sawtooth in the city, tearing down buildings...everyone sees it.]
ADAM PARK:
Time to go to work, guys!
ALL:
(while preparing their morphers)
Start Up!
[The suits fully-form over the seven team members, who then teleport out to where the Machine Beast is.]
EXT.-CITY-DAY
[The seven rangers arrive, and confront Sawtooth.]
SAWTOOTH:
Hello, rangers...all seven of you this time! Gearoids!
[A swarm of two dozen minion soldiers materialize from swirling nuts and bolts.]
GOLD SKY RANGER:
Let's dismantle them!
[The seven charge into battle. During the fray, Arkimedes teleports in, and joins Sawtooth's side.]
ARKIMEDES:
Gear Screw! Power Up!
[The Gearoids are made stronger, but are not strong enough as the rangers soon defeat the Gearoids, and turn their attention to Sawtooth and Arkimedes. Before facing the duo, the Red Ranger notices that a nearby building is about to collapse.]
RED NITRO RANGER:
Guys! Look at that building!
BLUE NITRO RANGER:
There might be people in there!
[The three Nitro Rangers and the Green Ranger race to the building as the Black Ranger stays with the Sky Rangers to battle Sawtooth. The entire diversion gives Arkimedes and Sawtooth the chance to escape. After clearing the building, all the rangers de-morph.]
MATT SANDOVAL:
(doubtful)
Man! Not again!
[Matt hands his Defender Shifter to Adam. Everyone else is in shock.]
Adam...I don't deserve to be a ranger...not when I injured you so easily.
[Matt runs off toward Shidex Plaza...Adam follows as the others go back to the dojo.]
EXT.-CITY-SHIDEX PLAZA-DAY
[Matt is at a tree that was planted and "plaqued" in honor of a fallen police officer...Adam approaches.]
ADAM PARK:
Matt...what is really going on? You can tell me anything.
MATT SANDOVAL:
First of all, again...I'm sorry for hurting you.
ADAM PARK:
And for the "umpteenth-millionth" time, it's okay!
MATT SANDOVAL:
No...it's not. See that plaque?
ADAM PARK:
Yes. It's for Officer Patrick Gianetti.
MATT SANDOVAL:
Gianetti and I were partners when I was on the force. I...I'm the one that accidentally shot and killed him while we were chasing down a robber a few years ago. We got the robber in a sandwich formation. When I fired my service revolver, the robber ducked as I pressed the trigger.
ADAM PARK:
Matt...I have been a ranger off-and-on now for thirteen years. I know what can happen during a battle, and I've seen teammates go down due to an injury during the heat of a battle.
MATT SANDOVAL:
Like what happened to Ryder last month.
ADAM PARK:
Exactly! It's the price we pay for protecting the universe...
[Adam hands Matt back his morpher.]
...it comes with the morpher.
MATT SANDOVAL:
(as he straps the morpher back onto his left wrist)
Thanks, Adam.
ADAM PARK:
I'll leave you to collect your thoughts.
[Adam departs the area. A few minutes later, Sawtooth returns.]
MATT SANDOVAL:
You, again!
SAWTOOTH:
I saw that you're all by yourself?
MATT SANDOVAL:
(as he prepares his morpher)
Start Up!
[The suit "fully-forms" over Matt's body. A couple of kids get into the path of the battle as the other six rangers arrive.]
RED NITRO RANGER:
Back off, dusty!
[The Nitro Rangers and the Black Ranger get the kids to safety while the Sky Rangers and the Green Ranger battle Sawtooth. At some point during the chaos, the trio defeat Sawtooth, who grows.]
SAWTOOTH:
Something that I can sink my teeth into!
RED NITRO RANGER:
(into his morpher)
Alpha...send the zords!
[Soon, a larger than usual zord case arrives...it now houses all eight zord casts. The seven rangers take hold of the eight casts, insert the Super Nitro Cells, and cast-off. Soon, they all board their zords, strap in and put them into gear.]
NITRO RANGERS:
Nitrozords...
DEFENDER RANGERS:
Defenderzords...
SKY RANGERS:
Skyzords...
ALL RANGERS:
...Online!
[The Nitro Rangers and Defender Rangers step on the gas to form a megazord.]
Nitro Defender Megazord...Ready To Rumble!
[The megazord and Sawtooth battle, but soon the Machine Beast gets the upper-hand.]
GOLD SKY RANGER:
(to the Nitro Defender Megazord)
You guys seem like you can use us...how 'bout we combine?
RED NITRO RANGER:
Let's do it!
[Falcon and Tiger land on the megazord's shoulders to form a new megazord combination.]
ALL RANGERS:
Nitro Defender...Superzord!
[Sawtooth just looks at the megazord, realizes that he is doomed!]
Super Grand Prix!
[The megazord releases the energies of all eight VehAni as a laser beam, and destroys the Machine Beast. The seven rangers celebrate in the cockpit.]
INT.-MOUNTAINS-POWER CENTER-DAY
[The seven de-morphed rangers teleport in, and celebrate a bit more. Global's alarms sound, and the team looks worried.]
ALPHA SIX:
Global's sensors are picking up an object heading this way!
ZORDON:
Friend or foe, Alpha?
ALPHA SIX:
Yes! The object is carrying a VehAni energy signature!
[The team members are happy that another VehAni is coming, but Falcon and Tiger are much more happier.]
FALCON:
It can only be one VehAni...Whale! The leader of the Wing Clan!
EXT.-CITY-SHIDEX PLAZA-NIGHT
[At sunset, Arkimedes returns to the battle site, to find Sawtooth's remains in a smoking crater.]
ARKIMEDES:
You're not done yet, my friend...time for an upgrade!
[Arkimedes scoops up the Machine Beast's remains, and departs for Mechanico Island.]
EXT.-CITY-AIRPORT-NIGHT
[A giant, blue airplane-like VehAni comes in for a landing on a nearby runway.]
voice of AIR TRAFFIC CONTROLLER:
This is Angel Grove air tower...please identify yourself!
[Whale lands on the runway, then taxis to a hangar....TO BE CONTINUED.]
