[Keiko enters the building while holding a piece of paper...it's a flyer advertising a singing contest. She goes over to the main counter where everyone is hanging out.]
KEIKO OGAWA:
(giving the flyer to Chloe to read)
Hey, guys! I got this flyer! It's for a singing contest!
CHLOE WILCOX:
Keiko...have you read the fine print? It says that you need to submit a demo C.D..
KEIKO OGAWA:
It does!? Oh well...I guess I'll have to go make one.
INT.-MECANICO ISLAND-DAY
[Metalia prepares a new Machine Beast. She is called "SONGSTRESS," and is based on a metronome device, used to keep tempo while playing music.]
METALIA:
Songstress! Go to the city and make a racket!
SONGSTRESS:
My pleasure!
[Songstress departs the palace.]
INT-CITY-SHIDEX PLAZA-RECORDING STUDIO-DAY
[Keiko is inside recording a song ("Save Some Love," originally by "Keedy." The control room employees bop and groove to the music.
KEIKO OGAWA:
(singing some of the song's lyrics)

[Suddenly, everyone sees Songstress outside attacking, and citizens are fleeing the area.]
EXT.-CITY-SHIDEX PLAZA-RECORDING STUDIO-DAY
[In the confusion, Keiko goes outside to confront the Machine Beast.]
SONGSTRESS:
Hello, girly! The name's Songstress!
KEIKO OGAWA:
(while preparing her morpher)
Great! Another Machine Beast with a bad taste in music! Start Up!
[The Yellow Ranger suit "flash-forms" over Keiko. She then speaks into her morpher.]
YELLOW NITRO RANGER:
Guys...there's a Machine Beast at Shidex Plaza!
[The Yellow Ranger prepares to battle the monster.]
SONGSTRESS:
A Power Ranger!
YELLOW NITRO RANGER:
That's right...and you're going down, Songstress!
SONGSTRESS:
Bring it!
[After the Yellow Ranger battles the Machine Beast for a few minutes, the other rangers arrive, and Songstress retreats, leaving the rangers a bit confused.]
INT.-CITY-DOJO-DAY
[The next day, Keiko arrives at the dojo, and joins the others.]
KEIKO OGAWA:
Well, I took the demo C.D. to the televison station last night...they're due to announce the winner in a few minutes.
[Chloe turns on the television near the juice bar counter.]
voice of NEWS ANCHOR:
Well, in local news, W.D. Records just held a singing contest for residents of the Angel Grove area. All the participants had to was to submit a demonstration of their talents onto a compact disc...and tonight we have a winner. She's Keiko Ogawa from right here in Angel Grove. Keiko, please contact our station for further details.
KEIKO OGAWA:
(in shock)
Whoa! I...can't believe...I won!
CHLOE WILCOX:
(while handing Keiko a cordless telephone)
Better call the station.
[Keiko goes into Adam's office so she can call the station.]
voice of NEWS ANCHOR:
We have breaking news...the monster that the Power Rangers face earlier has returned to Shidex Plaza. Please stay out of the area as the rangers will be arriving soon. Stay tuned as information becomes available.
ADAM PARK:
Let's go guys! Brandon...get Keiko!
[Brandon goes into Adam's office to tell Keiko of the monster attack as they depart the dojo.]
EXT.-CITY-SHIDEX PLAZA-DAY
[The Machine Beast is terrorizing the citizens with about twenty Gearoids. The seven un-morphed rangers arrive and confront the bad guys.]
SONGSTRESS:
(to Keiko)
Ah, you again...and I see you brought your friends!
RYDER SWANSON:
'Ya know...you're starting to be like a broken record!
SONGSTRESS:
Really!? Well, all my friends say that I'm a number one hit!
ALL:
(while preparing their morphers)
Start Up!
[The suits "fully-form" over the seven team members.]
RED NITRO RANGER:

Screech Of The Condor! Red Nitro Ranger!
BLUE NITRO RANGER:

Roar Of The Lion! Blue Nitro Ranger!
YELLOW NITRO RANGER:

[The rangers battle the Gearoids with their sidearms. After a few minutes, the Gearoids are dismantled, and the rangers turn their attention to the Machine Beast.]
YELLOW NITRO RANGER:
You're next on our playlist, Songstress!
SONGSTRESS:
Really!? I don't think so!
NITRO RANGERS AND DEFENDER RANGERS:
(pressing the "G" symbol on their belt buckles, which makes the weapons appear from their chest logos)
Nitro Gear!
RED NITRO RANGER:
Condor Blade!
BLUE NITRO RANGER:
Lionzooka!
YELLOW NITRO RANGER:
Bear Pellet!
GREEN DEFENDER RANGER:
Orca Axe!
BLACK DEFENDER RANGER:
Canine Taser!
NITRO RANGERS AND DEFENDER RANGERS:
Combine!
[The quintet combines their weapons.]
Nitro Defender Cannon!
YELLOW NITRO RANGER:
(as she inserts her Super Nitro Cell)
Inserting cell!
NITRO RANGERS AND DEFENDER RANGERS:
Fire!
[A energy blast is fired at the Machine Beast, but her metronome part deflects the attack.]
SONGSTRESS:
(while revving up the metronome part)
You'll have to do better than that!
[The metronome's ticking attacks the rangers with an energy blast. The rangers spark and flail before collapsing and de-morphing.]
RYDER SWANSON:
(weakly, as he and the others struggle to recover)
Yow! That smarted!
[The three generals teleport in.]
YOGO:
Good work, Songstress! Now, let's finish the job!
[The generals and Songstress approach the fallen rangers as they continue to recover.]
INT.-MOUNTAINS-POWER CENTER-DAY
[Zordon and Alpha are monitoring the situation with the battle.]
ZORDON:
Alpha...teleport the rangers here at once.
ALPHA SIX:
Yes, Zordon!
[The seven un-morphed rangers teleport in to have a chance to fully recover.]
ADAM PARK:
We need a better plan to battle Songstress.
INT.-CITY-SHIDEX PLAZA-W.D. RECORDS EXECUTIVE OFFICES-DAY
[Later that day, Keiko is meeting with the executives while her demo C.D. plays at a low olume in the background.]
EXECUTIVE #1:
This is your music contract...sign here...here...and initial here.
KEIKO OGAWA:
(realizing that her new career will take her away from her ranger duties.)
Sir...can I read this over more, and think about this before signing?
EXECUTIVE #3:
(after conferring with the other two executives)
Sure...just don't wait too long.
INT.-CITY-DOJO-DAY
[Keiko arrives, and talks to the others about the recording contract.]
KEIKO OGAWA:
I think this contract will threaten my ranger duties.
ADAM PARK:
Keiko...this is your decision. You wanted this for a long time.
KEIKO OGAWA:
(a bit dejected)
Then...I know what I must do.
[Keiko departs the dojo.]
voice of ALPHA SIX:
(on Adam's communicator)
Rangers...Songstress is back in the city!
EXT.-CITY-DAY
[Songstress makes more citizens flee in fear with a few Gearoids.]
SONGSTRESS:
Come on! I'm making beautiful music, here!
[The rangers arrive, and battle the Gearoids, and defeat them easily with their Nitrolizers and Sky Daggers. The Yellow Ranger then arrives.]
YELLOW NITRO RANGER:
I'm here, guys!
ALL RANGERS:
(pressing the "G" symbol on their belt buckles, which makes the weapons appear from their chest logos)
Nitro Gear!
RED NITRO RANGER:
Condor Blade!
BLUE NITRO RANGER:
Lionzooka!
YELLOW NITRO RANGER:
Bear Pellet!
GREEN DEFENDER RANGER:

BLACK DEFENDER RANGER:

SKY RANGERS:

[The seven combine their weapons.]
Nitro Defender Cannon! Booster Mode!
[The Red Ranger inserts his Super Nitro Cell.]
Fire!
[Songstress goes down, and then releases her Banki Energy to go through a Industrial Revolution to grow.]
SONGSTRESS:
Time to turn up the volume!
GOLD SKY RANGER:
(into his communicator)
Alpha...send the zords!
[Soon, the nine gigantic zords arrive on scene. The rangers board them, and install their morphers. The rangers then put the zords into gear after the cockpits are activated.]
Let's form the zords, guys!
RED NITRO RANGER, BLACK DEFENDER RANGER, AND GOLD SKY RANGER:
Zords...Combine!
[The three megazords (NItro, Defender, and Sky) are formed.]
ALL RANGERS:
Grand Prix!
[Songstress explodes as she is defeated. The team celebrates in their respective cockpits.]
YELLOW NITRO RANGER:
Now, that's what I call a flat note!
[The others laugh.]
INT.-MECHANICO ISLAND-DAY
[The villains are mad as ever (as usual).]
YOGO:
(as he banks his right fist on a wooden barrel, smashing it to bits.]
Another loss!?
INT.-CITY-DOJO-NIGHT
[Keiko talks to the others at the juice bar counter.]
KEIKO OGAWA:
Well, I told them that I thought the contest would not result in a contract, and that I had some prior commitments.
RYDER SWANSON:
She's staying!
[The seven celebrate.]
